Laura Woods has responded to Eni Aluko\u2019s latest outburst over male pundits in women\u2019s football.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The former England forward has appeared to reignite her feud with Ian Wright<\/a> almost a year on from her previous comments.<\/p>\n

Aluko had claimed in April 2025 that Wright\u2019s advocacy for the growth of women\u2019s football was holding back female pundits.<\/p>\n

Although she later apologised for her remarks<\/a>, the ex-Arsenal star said he could not accept her apology<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Aluko<\/a> has now given her thoughts on the punditry choices for last summer\u2019s Women\u2019s Euros final between England and Spain.<\/p>\n

The match was broadcast live by both the BBC and ITV, with a male pundit and two female former players on each of their panels.<\/p>\n

Former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha was part of the BBC\u2019s coverage of the match, with Wright a pundit for ITV.<\/p>\n

However, Aluko has now asked<\/a> why herself and the Lionesses record appearance maker Fara Williams were not involved for the final.<\/p>\n

What did Aluko say?<\/h2>\n

Speaking on the 90s Baby Show, the 38-year-old explained: \u201cLast year at the Women\u2019s Lionesses final, I\u2019m sat in the stands, I wasn\u2019t on it for ITV for the final.<\/p>\n

\u201cFarah Williams was next to me. Farah Williams has 170 caps for England.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe two broadcasters that had the rights, ITV, BBC. On BBC, you\u2019ve got Ellen White, Steph Houghton and Nedum Onuoha.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo offence to Nedum Onouha, nothing against him, I don\u2019t know whether he played for England or not. You\u2019re on the main panel for the final for England Women.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s go over to ITV, I\u2019m in the stands with 105 caps, so you have got two women with 290 caps, something ridiculous right. ITV, it\u2019s Ian Wright, Emma Hayes and Kaz Carney.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo out of six spots, two have gone to men, meanwhile you have got 290 (caps) sitting in the stands. I have never done a final and I am probably going to struggle to think of any woman, female pundit, who has done a men\u2019s major final.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am talking about as a pundit, so something is not right there. Why are people like me and Faz (Fara) not there? It is nothing against Ian and nothing against them, I am just saying broadly speaking we need to be aware of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her comments quickly went viral on social media, with the clip shared to X on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n

Woods reacts to Aluko<\/h2>\n

This caught the attention of ITV presenter Woods, who replied by simply commenting: \u201cWow\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

And when an X user asked whether Woods will defend Aluko, she responded by simply stating: \u201cNope.\u201d<\/p>\n

Woods responded to Aluko\u2019s remarks with a social media comment on the viral clip[\/caption]<\/p>\n

Woods had hosted the broadcaster\u2019s coverage of the final in July, which England won on penalties.<\/p>\n

Their victory secured back-to-back Women\u2019s Euros for Sarina Wiegman\u2019s Lionesses.<\/p>\n

Aluko was amongst ITV\u2019s line-up of pundits for the tournament in Switzerland but was not on the panel for the final.<\/p>\n

As a player, she won 105 caps for England and scored 33 goals during a 12-year international career as well as representing Team GB at London 2012.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, at club level, Aluko featured for Birmingham, Charlton and Chelsea alongside spells in the USA.<\/p>\n

She retired in 2019 following a season in Italy with Juventus, where she won the Serie A title to add to her three Women\u2019s Super League triumphs with Chelsea.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
