Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, says a lot has changed in FCT under the administration of President Bola Tinubu in the last two and a half years.<\/p>\n

Wike, who stated this after he inspected some ongoing projects in Abuja on Tuesday, pointed out that a lot has changed in terms of the provision of infrastructure.<\/p>\n

He said that in the 50th Anniversary of the FCT, the Tinubu administration had done pretty well, describing the 2026 as a golden jubilee year for the nation\u2019s capital.<\/p>\n

\u201cRemembering where we\u2019re coming from, I think Mr President has changed the landscape of Abuja in the last two years in office and now going to three years.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are also following what the Abuja Master Plan says. So I think we have really done well to the glory of God in terms of infrastructure,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the inspected projects, the minister expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of the ongoing road construction in Gishiri, which he said would be inaugurated to celebrate Tinubu\u2019s third year in office.<\/p>\n

Wike also lauded the ongoing dualisation of the Outer Southern Expressway from Ring Road I to Ring Road II.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can see the construction of the bridges are going well. Very good job.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are now here to see the road network for the informal sector where the Apo traders will be relocated to. I\u2019m quite impressed with CGC, the contractor handling the three projects.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile this project will be completed in August, the OSEX area will be inaugurated as part of Tinubu\u2019s third anniversary,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Reacting to the truce reached with FCT workers that led to the suspension of a planned protest by labour unions on Tuesday, the minister said there was no winner and no loser.<\/p>\n

He expressed delight that the union leaders have seen the realities on ground which had helped to clear misconceptions.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m happy that the trade union and labour congress came to see things for themselves. Sometimes it\u2019s good. What they were told is not really what\u2019s on ground.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut by and large, we have had a good meeting and they\u2019ve directed the workers to go back to work, which you can see that it has been done.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, we\u2019re happy that at the end of the day, there is no winner, no loser.\u00a0 It\u2019s for the interest of Abuja to progress,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
