Iconic rapper and Swansea City co-owner Snoop Dogg has unveiled plans to turn the Welsh side into a \u2018global name\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 54-year-old surprisingly became an investor in the Championship<\/a> side after taking a minority stake in the club last July.<\/p>\n

Snoop<\/a> isn\u2019t the only investor in Swansea City<\/a>, with former Real Madrid midfielder and current AC Milan star Luka Modric<\/a>, and TV personality Martha Stewart also involved in the club.<\/p>\n

And the Long Beach-born singer told Wales Online he \u2018always wanted to invest in a soccer team\u2019 as he plans to play his part in re-establishing Swansea as a Premier League team.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to be real hands on, I want to take the club in a direction maybe it hasn\u2019t been before,\u201d Snoop Dogg said.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to take Swansea to the Premier League<\/a>, and to do that we are going to need money \u2013 that\u2019s the reality of the game these days.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to introduce sponsorship deals and publicity that will make them a global name.\u201d<\/p>\n

Snoop is yet to attend a Swansea game, though his son, Cordell Broadus, was in the directors\u2019 box for their 1-1 draw with Watford in August.<\/p>\n

Stewart\u2019s Swansea debut<\/h2>\n

Martha Stewart<\/a>, meanwhile, watched live as Swansea claimed an entertaining 2-1 win over rivals Wrexham<\/a> last month.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am sure many of you will have seen that Martha Stewart was among those in attendance (on Friday),\u201d majority owners Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen said on the club\u2019s official website after the narrow home triumph.<\/p>\n

\u201cMartha is a close friend of Snoop Dogg and she came to the Wrexham game as our guest.<\/p>\n

Snooping around<\/h2>\n

Swansea have said that the west coast rapper is likely to take in a match live this season, though that has been no confirmation on when he will make the trip across the pond to visit the Swansea.com Stadium.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese fans are passionate, they are real, and I want to hear what they got to say when I am in Swansea.<\/p>\n
