Never fall in love with a loan player. It\u2019s football\u2019s golden rule but Bristol Rovers fans might be about to do it \u2013 again.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 2022, future England international Elliot Anderson<\/span> rocked up at the Memorial Stadium and had fans running<\/span> out of plaudits.<\/p>\n

Akhamrich earned a loan move to Bristol Rovers after impressing for Tottenham\u2019s Under-21s[\/caption]<\/p>\n

Then-manager Joey Barton<\/span> described the midfielder in glowing terms<\/a>, likening him to one of the greats of the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been listening to Bill Shankly tapes a lot today,\u201d he told BristolLive at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe talked a lot about a 19-year-old Diego Maradona<\/span> and how he slows down in the penalty area, exactly like Elliot Anderson<\/a> does. (He is) such a talent.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cElliot has been brilliant for us from the first day we brought him in. I would have paid to watch him tonight \u2013 he was that good. He is growing into the shirt and his goal capped an outstanding performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cElliot is a huge talent. He excites you and tonight he showed a different gear to be the stand-out player on the pitch.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, after a stunning debut, Tottenham\u2019s Yusuf Akhamrich might be about to fall into the same category.<\/p>\n

He joined the Pirates on January 22 and the 20-year-old got off to the perfect start to life in Bristol.<\/p>\n

The strugglers won a vital relegation six-pointer with Newport County<\/span> 3-0, and Akhamrich scored their opening two goals.<\/p>\n

His first saw the midfielder latch onto a poor clearance before driving into a central area and unleashing a left-foot strike into the net from 25 yards.<\/p>\n

He added a second 18 minutes later, taking down a brilliant diagonal into the box before slotting past Jordan Wright.<\/p>\n

Akhamrich was on the bench for Tottenham in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund before his loan move[\/caption]<\/p>\n

Akhamrich almost got a third too but saw another long range shot palmed away by Wright before exiting the game in the 82nd minute.<\/p>\n

And Fabrizio Cavegn put the cherry on top of the win \u2013 their second in nine \u2013 as they look to fire themselves out of the relegation zone.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not trying to overreact but I think Yusuf Akhamrich is the second coming of Elliot Anderson,\u201d one fan tweeted.<\/p>\n

Another added: \u201cGoes without saying the comparisons of Akhamrich and Anderson will happen now, but enjoy him while he\u2019s here. He won\u2019t stay in L2 for long, superb!\u201d<\/p>\n

A third said: \u201cGive Yusuf Akhamrich the keys to the city.\u201d<\/p>\n

Akhamrich hasn\u2019t just made his mark in this game though.<\/p>\n
