There was plenty of drama in the clash at Anfield, involving red cards, late goals that weren’t given and a Pep Guardiola meltdown.

And the action doesn’t stop there!

There is a full round of midweek Premier League fixtures as the games come thick and fast.

On Tuesday, Manchester United needed a last-minute goal to secure a point at West Ham meaning that Red Devils fan still can’t cut his hair.

Meanwhile, Chelsea threw away a two-goal lead to draw with Leeds at Stamford Bridge while the pressure has been piled on Tottenham boss Thomas Frank again following their defeat to Newcastle.

And Everton also lost at home as Bournemouth came from behind to win on Merseyside.

Liverpool now travel to Sunderland in the late kick off on Wednesday evening as under-pressure boss Arne Slot seeks to return to winning ways at the Stadium of Light.

Elsewhere, Manchester City can close the gap to league leaders Arsenal to three points when they host Fulham.

City came from behind to claim all the spoils at Liverpool on Sunday as they did the double over the defending champions for the first time since the 1936-37 season.

There are a couple of crunch clashes at the foot of the table in midweek too as Nottingham Forest host table footers Wolves, while Burnley make the trip to south London to face Crystal Palace.
